When we talk about food, most people know that Singapore is a food paradise. There are just so many different types of food and so many places to find good food in Singapore. The places can range from a hawker center to eateries and even posh restaurants.
So where do we go to find the best food in Singapore? If you are targeting hawker centers, there is Maxwell Market and Alexandra Village. Maxwell Market is near to Chinatown and it has a few yummy and famous food there. There is chicken rice, economic rice and lor mee. Alexandra Village is just opposite Queensway Shopping Center. There is the famous claypot laksa and hainanese chicken rice.
You can also go to Ikea, the one opposite Anchorpoint to have a meal there. I would recommend the Swedish meat balls and the chicken wings. They are heavenly!
For japanese food, I recommend Sakae Sushi and Sushi Tei. I heard Sakura is not bad so you might want to try it too. For Sakae Sushi, go there during the buffet time. It’s more worth it and you can try many of the different sushi. If you are eating ala carte, try the soft shell crabs. For Sushi Tei, try the salmon sushi, its’ very fresh.
For western food, I recommend Swensens. Try the baked rice,the cioppino or fish and chips and the other western food. When you go there during the week of your birthday you even get a free slice of cake(but you need to produce your IC though).
Currently, there is a donut craze in Singapore. I have bought donuts from three different donut shops namely, Vinco, Donut Factory and Missy Donut. Personally, I think that the donuts from Donut Factory is the best! Try the strawberry white chocolate, orange white chocolate, peanut butter chocolate, mint chocolate and double chocolate. For Vinco, try the chocolate delight, mochalitis( I think that is how it is spelled), almond white chocolate. mon cheri and sky berry. For Missy Donut, try the mocha ole,blue berry white chocolate and apple cinnamon.
